Fertility Product Review: OvuLite

The OvuLite is one of many brands of fertility monitors on the market today. Beyond Fertility.com only offers the best of the best and OvuLite is one of the featured monitors in the Beyond Fertility.com store. I say this because there are many other brands of fertility monitors that you won’t see for sale at this site because they just don’t match up to the high standards set forth by them.

The OvuLite is one of the best selling monitors because of its quality design and purpose. Each OvuLite offers unlimited testing with 98% accuracy. These units are saliva based, therefore are more hygienic than urine based monitors.

Detecting the fern patterns in saliva is an excellent way of predicting ovulation. The OvuLite does just this as a personal microscope. Each morning place a drop of saliva onto the microscope slide. Do this before eating or drinking. Wait for the slide to completely dry then view the results in the scope. You will see one of three things: 1. Infertile – with only dots or nothing. 2. Possible – With a few scattered ferns and lines among the dots. 3. Fertile – a complete weave of ferns (or lines). It’s during the “possible” and “fertile” times that it’s best to have sexual intercourse in order to conceive. OR if you are using the unit as birth control, to avoid sexual intercourse.

Please note, the manufacturer suggests the OvuLite be used only for purposes of pro-creation. However, there are many women, including the author of this article, who successfully use these ovulation microscopes as birth control as well.

Each OvuLite comes with a sealed lithium battery and is guaranteed to work for 5 years. This solid construction makes the OvuLite a favorite pick for many women. The little unit stands about 4 inches high and comes complete with a free carrying case.

How does OvuLite work?
OvuLite uses a woman’s saliva to pinpoint her periods of fertility and infertility by employing a technique similar to staining done in laboratories. It operates on the principle that saliva forms a “ferning” pattern when dried resulting from the biochemical and hormonal changes (estrogen) taking place in the body during her fertile days. These delicate “fern-like” shapes, which look like frost on a windowpane, are readily identifiable when observed through the OvuLite personal fertility microscope. Women who wish to conceive can track the patterns of the crystals in order to choose the optimal days for intercourse.”

The OvuLites are similar to Ovu-Tec, Fertile-Focus, Maybe Mom, and the Ovuscope saliva microscopes. I personally think the OvuLite is an excellent fertility microscope and do recommend them.
