Charting Basics to learn your Most Fertile Days

Basal Body Temperature
Basal body temperature (referred to as BBT) is the temperature the body is at rest. BBT can tell a woman a lot about her fertility cycle. Charting temperatures helps a woman to know when she has ovulated, and possibly even if she is pregnant.

Cervical Fluid
The next best fertility sign is cervical fluid. Cervical fluid is produced at the cervix throughout the entire cycle. Examination of this fluid can fairly well tell you what point you are in your cycle.

Cervical Position
The third fertility sign, and probably the most evasive, is the cervical position. Checking the cervical position is not highly recommended because of the fact that an outside force is invading the otherwise clean area of the vagina.

Putting It All Together
Now that you have all the basics to charting your fertility symptoms - it's time to put your knowledge to use. Be sure to print out a good BBT (basal body temperature) chart - and be sure to have a good BBT thermometer.

Basal Body Temperature - A How To
So many couples are forced to go to other means of helping conception along. Not always is the equation have lots of sex + right timing = baby as easy to accomplish for some as it is others.

The Importance Of Charting
Whether you've just begun the journey of trying to conceive or if you are a seasoned veteran - charting your fertility signs can be of significant value. For the novice - charting can shorten the time you need if you have an infertility problem - thus allowing you to seek help much sooner.

Do I Need a Basal Body Thermometer?
I recommend a basal thermometer if you are serious about fertility charting. Why? Because a basal thermometer will give you temperature readings to the one-tenth of a degree.

Variations on a Basal Temperature Chart The purpose of charting the basal body temperatures is to find out when ovulation occurs. To some women, the chart will be "text-book" meaning the lows will be in the 97.0 F range and the highs in the 98.0 range, with a .4 rise the day after ovulation and a 14 day luteal phase (the time from ovulation to menstruation or the start of the next cycle.)
